Maybe you don’t think you’re creative.
Examine that thought. Is that thought helping you or hurting you?
This month is all about building you up, getting you ready to create new plans for your career and your life.
Here is a quick project to boost your creativity!
I bought fire extinguishers for the house and realized I didn’t want them on the wall. So I used the box they came in. A plain brown cardboard box, but it looked better than a red fire extinguisher bolted to the wall. It was too blah. I had to do something. Decoupage!
Decoupage doesn’t take long and the results are lovely to look at.
For your project you will need:
- Something to decorate
- Old Magazines
- Scissors
- Mod Podge (craft store or Ace Hardware)
- Foam Paint Brushes (craft store or Family Dollar)
Instructions
- Cut out some pictures out of the magazine.
- Place them on the item you want to decorate to see what looks good
- Develop a theme or do a random hodge-podge.
- Use the foam brush to apply the Mod Podge to the back of the photo.
- Put the photo somewhere on the item.
- Repeat until the item is covered in pictures.
- Allow it to dry.
- After the pictures are dry, use the foam brush to paint a thin layer of Mod Podge over the pictures.
- Allow to dry.
- Ta-da!
- Display.
Beware of the labels people put on you. Planning a project is creative. Writing computer code is creative. Creativity is using your mind to bring something to life, transforming one thing into something else.
Everyone is creative.
